All About Depression

Depression. A topic that nobody wants to talk about. A silent killer. Depression can take over a persons so quickly it's hard to register just what is going on. Depression can be on a minor scale where you sometimes forget it's there or it can be on a major scale where is takes up all of your time. Although a person may act like they are completely fine and smile on the outside, they can be in extreme pain on the inside. It's hard to tell if a person has depression because people have gotten so good at hiding it. A person may tell close friends or family members, but often they try to hide it and keep it to themselves. They often feel it will be a burden to tell somebody else and get them involved. A person with depression often thinks the life they're living will never be enough. People who suffer from depression also underestimate just how strong they are. The kinds of people who suffer from depression are often the strongest type of person. They have undergone such extreme lows and yet they still continue to fight and prove to the world they aren't giving up. Even though it may seem like the only option is to give up, it never is. If you experience depression, you should seek help. Your problems will only continue to worsen if you let the depression take over. If you get help and continue fighting the battle, you can eventually show this sickening disease who's boss. If you or someone you know is suffering, you should make sure that you have somebody who can help you and be a form of support system. Friends may be able to help but there gets to be a point where you will need to seek professional help to really get better. If you suffer from depression, just know this: I'm proud of you. You got this.
