Everyday, teenagers quietly suffer with mental health problems that they don't make known. Teens are afraid of telling other people how they feel because they feel as if they are burdening others with their problems. Although not everybody suffers with mental health problems, most teenagers will suffer from at least one type of mental health issue at some point in their life. Teenagers often try to keep their problems to themselves because we teach ourselves that if we tell other people how we are feeling emotionally, we will be burdening them and trying to make them feel bad. Signs that a teenager is suffering from a mental health issue is when a teen will: constantly sleep, try to be alone constantly, or are constantly in a sour or depressing mood. They will often not want to get out of bed, stop trying to communicate with friends, or stop completing simple everyday tasks.
Teenagers will often do everything they can to hide how they really feel. For instance, you may see a teen that is always smiling and happy but when they leave a social environment, they feel gloomy and down. Teenagers are some of the most confusing people to understand because no matter how many times somebody asks us what is wrong, we often lie and say that everything is fine. One thing that often helps teenagers feel better is writing things down becuase it is a way of expressing how you feel without actually telling anybody. It can often be a welcoming way to get weight off your shoulders and feel less alone. Next time you feel alone and as if you have nobody to turn to, try getting out a pencil and piece of paper and writing down how you feel. It can truly be a way of expressing everything you need to get off of your chest.

I love this blog, Delaney! I love how you talked about mental health because that is obviously an important topic. I like how you shared the signs that someone could be going through something, and it is definitely something to look out for in people. I also love how you listed some ways to be happy. That is a very nice thing to do.
Delaney, I love your post! It was nice to read an article that gave a lot of information on such an important topic. People dont realize how common mental health issues are in teens. I liked how you not only shared some signs that someone is struggling, but also shared ways to help people feel better. I really liked the idea of writing things down. Next time I feel overwhelmed I will have to try that.
I think this is really important to talk about mental health with teens. Writing about your own thoughts is a really important way to express your emotions. I personally can relate to not talking about my own feelings because I am too embarrassed, so I think that was really easy to relate to. I think that addressing mental health is important so that people can start to become more comfortable discussing their health, because that can help things get better eventually.
I really enjoyed this post! This is so informative and eye-opening to everyone who reads it, and I think several people will be able to relate to this topic. I appreciate you talking about mental health and bringing awareness to it, because I feel it is something that is not discussed enough. This blog is super comforting to anyone who may suffer with a mental illness, and it reminds people that they are not going through it alone. I loved how you brought up that teenagers will do anything they can to hide how they feel and try to act okay. It's a really good reminder to everyone that you never really know how someone is truly feeling / how…
I really like this blog post because it brings awareness to how a lot of teenagers in high school will quietly suffer through some mental illness because they are too embarrased or uncomfortable. I agree with your advice about writing down your thoughts because it is a safe and private way to document how you feel. This helps people really let out their true feelings and thoughts. I know that whenever I get stressed from school I like to write down everything and let it all out.
